The Gen Now team serves to create a safe, joyful environment that helps each child develop a meaningful relationship with Jesus and creates a faith community that is like a family. We aim to provide programs children are eager to attend during Mass that allow the parents to worship uninterrupted. We believe children’s joy and faith inspires and deepens their parent’s faith and relationship with God.
Jesus and Me (J.A.M.)
We invite your child(ren) to join us during the Readings during 9:00am Mass and 10:30am at St Augustine.
Children’s Liturgy is for children in Pre-K to Fifth grade. Children will leave Church, accompanied by mentors, near the beginning of Mass and will be led over to the St. Augustine Hall, where they will hear the Bible stories at their level with music, prayer, and activities. The children will return to Church after the readings, during the collection and bringing up the gifts.
Walking with Jesus
This year, we will be using A Family of Faith. This parish family-based Catechism series covers the entire Catechism of the Catholic Church in four years and assists parents in teaching their children the Faith. One special advantage of teaching children catechism at home is that it is an opportunity to draw your family closer together. Each month families will discuss one chapter of the book and then the parents teach it to their children. There are activities in each chapter to help the children to learn the key points of each chapter. We will have a social media platform that families will be invited to, so you can share what your family has done and so there can be support with other families.
